  • The Velvet Elixir is the centrepiece of the Essentials by Temi body care practice— but it works best as part of a three-step sequence that takes your skin from raw to restored.

    Butterscrub — Body Scrub

    Start with the Butterscrub to exfoliate, soften, and prepare the skin. Dead Sea salt and coffee clear the surface. Shea butter conditions it. Freshly exfoliated skin absorbs everything that follows more deeply.

    1–3 times per week, before the oil.

    Velvet Elixir — Silkening Body Oil

    Shake a few drops between your palms and press gently into damp skin after showering. Massage in slow, circular motions until fully absorbed — sealing in the moisture the scrub unlocked.

    Daily, year-round.

    Buttercream — Body Cream

    In cooler months, follow the oil with your Buttercream. The oil seals in hydration. The cream delivers a final veil of softness. Together they work deeper than either can alone.

I also wanted it to carry my African heritage. Kalahari Melon Seed, Baobab, Mongongo — ancient oils with healing properties that have been trusted for generations. I wanted that knowledge to speak through this formula. And I wanted it to belong to everyone. Velvet Elixir is that oil. It took a while to get here. It was worth it.

  • The bottle doesn't end when the oil does. Velvet Elixir is packaged in 100% recyclable glass with a removable reducer. When the bottle is empty, remove the insert, rinse the glass with warm soapy water, and refill it with whatever you’d like to.

    Use it for your own oil blend, a nourishing hair treatment, a carrier oil, or anything you reach for drop by drop. The glass is beautiful enough to keep on your shelf and practical enough to earn its place there every day. Low waste is not a label we put on things. It is how we make them.
